Two Weeks Later!!

What have I created in the last couple of weeks?......Not a lot I'm sad to say :- (  Have been busy at work though I guess that doesn't count....
But the squares cut from the left overs from my previous post became another one of these fabric baskets......

.......a birthday pressie with a few goodies stuffed inside for a special friend, Dzintra..... And one sock has been finished but will show you those when both are finished.

Am going as a (virtual) guest to Chookyblue's birthday bash this Sunday - can only fit in one day :-( ...looking forward to sharing some sewing time together & raising a glass - or two......

Will catch up over the weekend, till then....

What am I up to.....

Well...not a lot in this past week.....here is a quick glimpse...

Knitting......

Something is being made from the squares that these pieces were cut off from....but it's a secret at the moment ......

And of course my Christmas in July swap has been started - but I can't show you that yet....

This week saw no trips away from home!...but work has been busy so nights were spent mainly watching a DVD or two and knitting......no energy to be "playing" around in the sewing room :-( ...... but have been to the pictures twice this past week to see "The Grand Budapest Hotel" and today my daughter suggested we go and see "Chef" - very appropriate as she is a chef!

Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day to all the mums out there...... hope you all had a truly lovely day...whatever you were doing.....

I have spent the last few days driving with my younger daughter...firstly an unscheduled trip to Sydney on Thursday to pick up some documents for an overseas trip she is shortly to embark on.....then Friday to Canberra where she had to get a few more things for her trip - a bit of shopping on Saturday before finishing off  at Koko Black...

Cinnamon Hot Chocolate & Florentines....YUM!

..... After which we headed up the highway again this time to my sister's place in Bundanoon where today we celebrated Mothers Day together with my mum & dad who had come down from Sydney.... Will share a couple of Autumn photos from my sisters lovely garden.... you can tell Autumn is my favourite season!....

Considering I live on the far South Coast we did cover a lot of kms! ..... 

While away for those few days I did manage to start another pair of socks and there should be some other projects to share with you soon.....till then.....

Autumn & A Finish

Managed a couple of hours in Canberra last Sunday before heading home..... lovely Autumn colours everywhere....

And..... daughter is back home after another quick trip to Canberra to pick her up!

Finished in time for someone "special" for this weekend!

Have a few busy days coming up so not much stitching will get done... may get time to start another pair of socks though?

FNWF

Enjoyed stitching with "friends" from everywhere last night! A bit bleary eyed this morning though - and still in my PJs - as I stayed up a lot later than usual stitching.....

I decided to start a new project - only a small one as I hope to have it ready for a "special" day next weekend.....bought as a kit a number (!) of years ago....

A few hours later and the embroidery was complete.... and while having a break and a cup of tea I browsed through Gail Pan's new book which had just arrived in the mail.... a few lovely projects in there....

Off to Canberra later today - my younger daughter is going to Sydney with friends - leaving from Canberra early tomorrow morning - and her car is out of service so, like mums everywhere know, you come to the rescue with Plan B! Hopefully will find time to do some more on this "mystery" project over the weekend......
