Reading and a small finish!

There's been lots of reading being done lately...... all great books and you may notice a few of the books have a theme ...yes a trip is coming up soon!

Last weekend a friend and I headed off to Ulladulla to attend Storyfest again. (held every 2 years)... just for the day this time as I usually make it a  weekend away. We both enjoyed a few talks including one by Debra Oswald who wrote the book above "One Hundred Years of Betty" ( a really great read) and also an interesting talk on AI!
They always have a bookshop set up by Harbour Bookshop in Ulladulla so of course a little shopping was done......
Not a lot of creativity has been happening in my world lately, some stitching, but nothing even close to being finished... But, the knitting needles have been clicking away and a pair of socks have been completed......
Will finish with a little update on my little house mate, Phoebe. Always looking very cute - but does get up to mischief and outdoor adventures now include climbing trees  - only as far as the lead will reach though!
So that about brings me up to date....till next time....

Welcome Winter!

Yes, 1st June and welcome to Winter and what a beautiful day it was!! The sun shining and the temperature on the warmish side called for a walk along the beach followed by a bit of reading....

And since my last post was the begining of Autumn the following is what's been happening over the Autumn months......
Early March my son-in-law James headed south to do some mountain bike riding in our recently opened trails - world class so I have been told.  Not sure if Miss Phoebe here was helping James with the dishes or playing games .....
There have been plenty of coffee and lunch dates with friends.....
Of course, with May came Mothers' Day. This year neither Linda or I were able to get to Bundanoon to celebrate this special day with Mum but Vivien headed in with her computer and we had a lovely afternoon via a "zoom" call ....with Vivien taking a "screen shot" of us all.
And it would be no surprise that quite a few books have been read - as you can see Jeffrey Archer has been a rather popular author of late .....
I have a number of projects on the go.... I guess you call them WIP (Works in Progress) so obviously not finished  - yet! But did finish this cushion from a lovely book called "Vintage Vibe Quilts and Projects" by the late Louise Papas....full of beautiful projects!! I did a book review on this book at one of my patchwork group get togethers so thought I'd better make something from the book therefore a definite finish was needed!
Both Hayley and Megan have also been creative in their own special areas .....Hayley has had art work displayed in a Brisbane gallery (not for the first time) while Megan has been busy with her pottery.... she has also started patchwork again having made a couple of lovely quilts many years ago.
And before I finish off an update on Miss Phoebe who has made herself at home amongst fabrics and enjoys lap time while I'm stitching. The outdoors also beckoned to her and has now graduated to supervised outdoor garden walks!
So life has just been floating along through Autumn with a little bit of this and a little bit of that as they say...... what will Winter bring? Beach walks on sunny days, more reading, more projects finished - or getting closer to a finish and a special holiay!
