Hello!

Well finally I'm back......not that I'd gone very far! ... the wonders of modern technology meant I had no computer for a few months when mine decided to "pull the plug" ....took it in the computer place to have it looked at and after a few weeks was told it was so old I should get a new one! Well..... all ok to say that but with a majority of people now working from home they were in short supply and had to wait again..... finally it was here then a few teething issues with the new.....hence there have been no "yarns from my sewing basket" ....... What has been happening you ask? Well, there has been Christmas, devastating fires, a family wedding and now a pandemic - and it's only been 4 months!
Although it now seems like a lifetime ago I did make it to Sydney for our family Christmas - we all enjoyed our days together including a shopping trip to find a dress and shoes for an upcoming wedding!

Christmas had barely passed before my sister and her husband were suddenly heading home to Bundanoon with the Southern Highlands being threatened by fires and on New Years Eve a firestorm swept into my home town of Batemans Bay. With roads closed I was unable to get home but thankfully my home was ok though many others were not so lucky. Once the highway was opened it was a very sad drive home passing through the charred landscape and devastated towns on the way.
Towards the end of January my family had something to look forward to...... the arrival from England of Megan, James and his mum Hazel and a wedding!! But....that will have to wait for my next "yarn" and you won't have to wait another 4 months!

  1. Technology is wonderful when it all works. I didn't realise your home town was affected by those horrific fires. How terrifying for you. I'm so glad your home was undamaged. 2020 has been a shocker so far. Lovely to have a homecoming and a wedding to look forward to xx
